I came home with our baby’s ultrasound in my hand—and found my husband hurriedly pulling on his pants while my best friend hid behind my maternity coats.

I set them beside the ultrasound photo.

“I bought this house three years before I ever met you,” I said. “My name is the only one on the deed. The prenup identifies it as my separate property.”
